Our Thanksgiving picture was drawn by Izabella Gaines, daughter of Chief Petty Officer Nicholas Gaines. Izabella took part in the Coast Guard Foundation's Coastie Camper Program, which helps Coast Guard children pay for summer camp and other enrichment activities during school breaks.
Our daughter created this artwork straight from the heart. She is thankful for our family and the love that we share for one another near and far. The leaves represent the fall season, which is one of her favorite times to visit her grandparents in Ohio while the circular wreath pattern represents the continuous love that surrounds and builds our family. If military has taught our children anything, it is that family and love are the stability of life!
