On October 23, 2020, U.S. Coast Guard LTJG Morgan Garrett, a 2019 graduate of the Coast Guard Academy, was fulfilling a life-long dream to become a pilot when she and Navy LT Rhiannon Ross died in a training accident in Alabama.
We have been working closely with the Coast Guard and her family to assist wherever we can during this devastating time. The Coast Guard held a memorial service for Morgan at the National Naval Aviation Museum on November 4.
Thanks to generous Coast Guard Foundation supporters, we provided floral arrangements for the service. We also helped with travel plans for Morgan’s parents, her fiancé, and other family members so they could all be there together.
Those who answer the call to serve our nation sacrifice so much, and with this loss, we are once again reminded of the real dangers they face. I’m proud to say we are there for their families in these times
