Coast Guard Foundation to Recognize Coast Guard Crew for Heroism at New York City Event
The Coast Guard Foundation is returning to Manhattan for its first Coast Guard tribute event in the city since the pandemic. The New York Salutes the Coast Guard gala will be held Oct. 6 at Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers.
The evening will highlight the missions and service of U.S. Coast Guard personnel in the Northeast and include a special award for heroism to a Coast Guard crew. It will also underscore the importance of the Port of New York and New Jersey to the city, the region, and the nation’s economy.
Now in its 40th year, New York Salutes the Coast Guard brings together Coast Guard leaders, industry executives, congressional and government officials, and Coast Guard supporters for a night of patriotic fanfare. Performances include the Coast Guard Band and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy Glee Club. It also raises money for Coast Guard Foundation activities nationwide.
The Commandant of the Coast Guard, Admiral Linda Fagan, First Coast Guard District Commander, Rear Admiral John Mauger, and Coast Guard Sector New York Commander, Captain Zeita Merchant, are scheduled to attend along with other Coast Guard personnel.
The event, which includes a reception and dinner, will begin at 6 p.m. Sponsorships and tickets are available at the event website. We are grateful to our dinner sponsor, Hornblower Group, which owns City Experiences and Statue City Cruises, for their generosity and we thank all our sponsors for their support.
