2021 Event Program Announcement
Our event program honors the best of the United States Coast Guard. We shine a bright light on the service and its members and recognize the heroism and mission excellence of the world’s best Coast Guard. In 2021, our program will feature a combination of in-person and virtual events.
Virtual Event Will Honor Heroes of the Coast Guard
There are many inspiring stories of Coast Guard heroism and mission excellence, and we intend to share those stories widely with those who care so much about the service and its members.
On August 4, we will host a 60-minute virtual program that will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the Coast Guard in action and give viewers a broader understanding of the challenges that the Coast Guard faces to protect and patrol our waterways. The event will also spotlight the role the Foundation plays in supporting members and their families and strengthening the entire Coast Guard community.
Tribute Dinners
Our last in-person event was in New Orleans in March 2020, and we look forward to seeing our friends and supporters as soon as we can. There is great value in celebrating the United States Coast Guard, and we are confident that honoring the service will highlight its importance and contributions to the safety and security of our Nation.
We are excited to gather together in-person to pay tribute to the men and women of the Coast Guard with our signature awards dinners in Washington DC on September 28 and in Texas on November 11. These events will highlight national and regional Coast Guard excellence and feature stories of member perseverance and resilience.
With our guests' health as our top priority, we will continue to monitor federal, state, and local regulations and gathering guidelines, and make adjustments as necessary for these in-person tribute dinners.
Golf Tournaments
Golf is an activity that people can safely play while social distancing, and we are fortunate to host two annual tournaments that can continue in this new year.
Our golf tournaments raise essential funds for our scholarship programs for Coast Guard members, spouses, and children. Our New York/New Jersey Scholarship Golf Tournament will resume in 2021 at the South Shore Golf Club on Staten Island on May 24. Our Washington DC Area Scholarship Golf Tournament will tee off on June 7 at the Army-Navy Country Club in Fairfax, Virginia.
Industry Spotlight Speaker Series
A three-part digital series -- planned for June, July, and October -- aims to provide a forum for industry, associations, and Coast Guard leaders to engage and exchange information.
The Coast Guard Foundation’s new virtual roundtable-style series will provide opportunities to engage with key industry stakeholders, Coast Guard leadership, and public policy officials. Each one-hour virtual discussion will be an exclusive, curated event focused on a specific topic of interest.
The Foundation will tap into its broad network of maritime, defense, and government contacts to deliver forums that promote the Coast Guard and the industries vital to it and its missions.
