Sold-Out Coast Guard Foundation Event Honors Heroic Air Crews

Nearly 600 attendees gathered at the Margaritaville Beach Resort in Hollywood, Florida, on Friday night to honor the heroic air crews from Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater for their life-saving rescues during Hurricane Helene in September 2024. 

Coast Guard Heroes Recognized for Hurricane Helene Rescues

Coast Guard helicopter crews conducted two daring rescues during Hurricane Helene, part of a weeklong response that saved or assisted 21 people and 5 pets in Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina. These rescues, carried out in extreme weather conditions, showcased the unwavering commitment of the U.S. Coast Guard to protecting lives.

Honoring Coast Guard Missions in the Seventh District

Beyond hurricane rescues, the Coast Guard Foundation event highlighted the daily efforts of the Coast Guard's Seventh District, which plays a crucial role in:
