Secretary of Homeland Security John F. Kelly To Keynote DC Tribute

The Coast Guard Foundation is proud to announce Secretary John F. Kelly will deliver keynote remarks at the 13th Annual Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Our Nation’s Capital on Tuesday, June 6, 2017.

Secretary John F. Kelly is the fifth and current United States Secretary of Homeland Security. He is a retired United States Marine Corps general and the former commander of United States Southern Command.

Commandant of the Coast Guard Admiral Paul F. Zukunft, currently serving as the 25th Commandant of the United States Coast Guard, will also deliver keynote remarks. The event will be hosted by John Roberts, the chief White House correspondent for FOX News Channel and Kyra Phillips, CNN Anchor/Correspondent- Investigative and Documentary News.

This annual tribute in Washington D.C. honors the men and women of the service and raises funds and awareness for the programs and projects of the Coast Guard Foundation. Last year, the Coast Guard Foundation and supporters gathered to honor the Coast Guard and celebrate 100 years of Coast Guard aviation.

The evening’s honored guest was Sergei Sikorsky, son of Igor Sikorsky, the inventor of the practical helicopter, and a World War II Coast Guard veteran. Mr. Sikorsky served in a U.S. Coast Guard helicopter test and development squadron as a helicopter mechanic, and participated in some of the first search and rescue missions.

The Tribute to the United States Coast Guard in Our Nation’s Capital event chairs are Coast Guard Foundation board members Admiral Thad Allen, USCG (Retired) and Ms. Corrine Kosar and will be held at the National Building Museum, 440 G Street NW, Washington, D.C..
