Inside the 2025 Annual Report

The Coast Guard Foundation’s 2025 Annual Report highlights the Coast Guard members and families who face extraordinary challenges every day, and the donors whose generosity makes it possible for the Foundation to be there when they are needed most.

In 2025, we invested more than $1.4 million in 247 morale and wellness projects, awarded $925,000 in scholarships to 255 Coast Guard children and provided education grants to 223 Coast Guard spouses.

When a glacial dam burst flooded parts of Juneau and wildfires swept through California, Coast Guard families suddenly found themselves dealing with the aftermath of natural disasters. The Foundation responded quickly, providing $40,000 in emergency disaster relief to help 17 families begin to recover.

The report also shares the story of Reserve Chief Warrant Officer Michael Horan, who was killed in the line of duty while serving as a police officer in North Carolina. Through the Foundation’s tragedy assistance program, which supported 21 families in 2025, nine Coast Guard members were able to travel to attend his memorial service.

“The 2025 Annual Report is a reminder that every scholarship, grant, morale and wellness project and emergency disaster relief grant represents a person, a family and a moment when support mattered,” said Susan Ludwig, president of the Coast Guard Foundation. “We are thankful to all of our donors and partners who made our work possible.”
