Coast Guard to be Honored for Daring 2024 Hurricane Rescues
This annual event honors the dedication and bravery of Coast Guard personnel serving in the southeastern United States.
The event will pay tribute to Coast Guard crews for two heroic rescues during Hurricane Helene last September. Their swift and courageous actions during the hurricane exemplify the Coast Guard's unwavering commitment to safeguarding lives and ensuring maritime safety. In total Coast Guard crews saved or assisted 21 lives and 5 pets during a week of hurricane response operations in Florida, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
This year, the Foundation will also recognize Lori Baer, Executive Director of the Port Everglades Association, for her distinguished career in the maritime industry. With over 30 years of experience, Baer has held leadership roles such as Executive Director of the Port of Palm Beach and Vice President at AECOM. Her contributions have significantly advanced port operations and maritime commerce in the region.
The Tribute to the Seventh Coast Guard District celebrates the service and sacrifices of Coast Guard members and acknowledges the support from community leaders and the maritime community. Attendees will include industry stakeholders, community partners, and Coast Guard personnel, all coming together to honor these achievements.

By participating in this tribute, attendees contribute to the well-being and resilience of those who serve our nation with honor and dedication.
The Foundation is thankful to Total Marine Solutions for their significant support as well as that of other generous sponsors.
