It’s one of the most wonderful times of the year - checking in with our recent college graduates to learn about their future plans. This year, 43 Coast Guard Foundation scholarship recipients earned their degrees. Congratulations to all - we’re proud of you!

Alison Long for the Web

Alison Long graduated from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. She’s headed to a summer job at a resort before reporting to the Walt Disney Company for a fall internship with plans to enroll in a master’s degree program at the University of Central Florida.

“The Coast Guard Scholarship Foundation gave me the opportunity to earn my bachelor’s degree free of debt,” shared Alison. “It was an honor to represent the Foundation all four years of my university experience.”

Irwin and Lorenz for the Web

Zachary Irwin earned a bachelor’s degree in business at Florida State University and earned a commission in the Army.

“I feel honored to have been selected as one of the recipients of the Coast Guard Foundation scholarship. Thanks to your generous support, I was able to complete my education.”

Madelyn Lorenz earned her bachelor’s degree in human and organizational development and cognitive studies at Vanderbilt University. She’s headed to the University of Texas at Austin School of Law this fall.

Madelyn graduated with zero student loans.

“The financial scholarship I received has been instrumental in supporting my college journey,” she noted. “It alleviated the financial burden, allowing me to focus on my studies and participate in extracurricular activities. Ultimately, it empowered me to pursue my academic goals and paved the way for a fulfilling college experience.”

“Thank you for choosing me as a recipient of the Coast Guard Foundation scholarship.”

Franklin for the Web

Jenna Franklin graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and an elementary school teaching certificate. She is enrolling in a master’s degree program at the University of Virginia. Her career goal is to become a certified speech language pathologist, with a focus on helping people with dyslexia.

“By alleviating the financial burden of attending college, the Coast Guard Foundation played a major role in me having the ability and confidence to attend a graduate program directly after graduating to pursue my dream career as a speech language pathologist,” shared Jenna. “Special thanks to the Masci Family whose scholarship supported me each year.”
