Announcement: New President of the Coast Guard Foundation
The Coast Guard Foundation Board of Directors and Trustees has announced that Susan P. Ludwig, the Coast Guard Foundation’s current Director of Regional Philanthropy, Northeast, will assume the duties of President of the Coast Guard Foundation at the beginning of 2017.
The announcement comes after the organization’s Annual Meeting on November 16. Susan will assume her new position in January following Anne B. Brengle’s retirement this December.
“We welcome Susan to this new role as President at the Coast Guard Foundation and look forward to working with her to grow the organization, increase engagement and ultimately impact the men and women of the United States Coast Guard in very real and significant ways,” said Will Jenkins, Coast Guard Foundation board chairman.
With ten years of non-profit fundraising and administration work, coupled with two decades of experience working in corporate sales and product management, Susan is well positioned to lead the organization, its board and staff through a nationwide effort to increase awareness for the Coast Guard and the Foundation and strengthen support for programs that benefit Coast Guard members and their families.
Susan grew up sailing with her father on the Chesapeake Bay, and has seen the Service in action throughout her life. Her family has a proud military history with both her grandfather and father serving in the Navy, and brother serving in the Army.
Susan joined the Coast Guard Foundation staff in 2013 as the primary fundraiser and relationship manager for Coast Guard Foundation programs and investors in the Northeast of the United States.
