Projects Nationwide
The Coast Guard Foundation supports morale and wellness projects at units and communities across the country, helping Coast Guard members and families stay connected, supported, and mission ready. These investments recognize that long deployments, remote duty stations, stressful assignments, and time away from loved ones can affect both physical and emotional well-being.
Through grants for exercise equipment, recreation resources, upgraded morale spaces, and family-focused community events, the Foundation helps members maintain healthy routines, reduce stress, and build stronger support networks. These projects are especially important in remote locations and during demanding duty periods, when opportunities to recharge and connect can be limited.
In 2025, the Foundation invested more than $1.4 million in 247 morale and wellness projects nationwide. Support ranged from crew lounge improvements at Station Fairport to morale assistance during the government shutdown and rebuilding support for Station South Padre Island after a fire damaged its recreation space.
By investing in morale nationwide, the Foundation helps ensure Coast Guard members and families have the spaces, resources, and community support they need wherever service takes them.
A Coast Guard Foundation grant helped completely update the station’s crew lounge, adding a pool table, dart board, and tabletop shuffleboard to create a welcoming space where members can relax, relieve stress, and strengthen camaraderie during downtime.
This kind of support may seem simple, but for crews standing watch and responding at all hours, having a place to recharge can make a meaningful difference in daily life and long-term morale.
