Coast Guard Children
The Coast Guard Foundation offers scholarships to college-aged children of active-duty, retired, and active reserve Coast Guard members, helping them pursue college or trade school with greater confidence and less financial strain. This support allows students to focus on academics while gaining real-world experience through internships, fieldwork, and hands-on learning that prepares them for future careers, graduate study, or military service.
These scholarships help reduce the burden of tuition and related expenses, making higher education more accessible for Coast Guard families navigating the demands of military life. Students are able to devote more time to learning, leadership, and preparing for the future.
For children of fallen Coast Guard members, the Foundation provides additional support through the Fallen Heroes Scholarship program, which covers 100% of higher education and living expenses. Booster grants also help younger surviving children access enrichment opportunities before college.
In 2025, the Foundation awarded 255 scholarships to dependent children, distributed $925,000 in scholarship support, and provided 11 Fallen Heroes scholarships and booster grants, along with eight scholarships for reservists and their families. Together, these programs help Coast Guard children pursue their goals and build strong futures.
“Thank you for making this generous contribution toward my academic journey. This money helps cover the cost of my senior year. Not having to worry about financing my education allows me to focus more of my time volunteering within the local Tucson community, something I am very passionate about.”
Jeciana’s story reflects how scholarships help Coast Guard children pursue ambitious goals while giving back to the communities around them.
