Lisa Moletzsky organized a Run To Remember to honor her son AMT2 Jason "Jake" Moletzsky, who died in a mid-air collision four years ago while conducting a Coast Guard search and rescue mission off the California coast.
To ensure his service and sacrifice to our country will not be forgotten, Mrs. Moletzsky held a 5K run on Sunday, October 27, at Norristown High School in Norristown, Pennsylvania, Jake's hometown. The Moletzskys raised $6,000 in Jake's memory for the Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund.
On the evening of October 29, 2009, Jake, an aviation maintenance technician, was one of seven Coastguardsmen, and two U.S. Marines, who were killed in a mid-air collision with a Marine Corps helicopter.
Donations in memory of Jake will be directed toward The Fallen Heroes Scholarship Fund, which helps the children of those who die in the line of duty attend college.
The Moletzskys and the Coast Guard Foundation are asking for support in honoring the memory of Jake, and all the other members of the Coast Guard who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of their country.
