A Southern California tactical shop is selling commemorative patches in honor of Senior Chief Terrell Horne III to help raise money for the Fallen Heroes Scholarship, which benefits the children of Coast Guard personnel who die in the line of duty.
Senior Chief Horne was killed during an operation near Los Angeles last year. He left behind a widow, and two children. OC Tactical, a military and law enforcement gear company, is selling the patches.
"Although I never met Terrell, he was a fellow Law Enforcement member here in Southern California and when tragedy happens we all come together to take care of our own and their families," the owner explained of why he was moved to help Senior Chief Horne's children.
The patch uses imagery designed by Sean Lawler, a Coast Guardsman who is one of the organizers of the Coast Guard Remember, which honors the fallen members of the service every year with fitness events across the country.
OC Tactical hopes to raise funds for the Fallen Heroes Scholarship through the patch sales. So far he's sold about half of the 500 patches. The patches are $6 each, with all the proceeds coming to the Foundation. They can be ordered here.
